Valve spring recall + maint?

I'm taking my 2013 FRS in for the recall on Monday I've asked if they go ahead and do the spark plugs and they have quoted me $199 for that. Is there anything else I should have done while the engine is out? I have 75000 miles on it.

$199 is a bit too much, the parts are $85. Are they charging labor? they shouldn't be.

Good question. I called and they said since they will not need to remove the spark plugs they are charging me full price. HA. Cancelled my appointment and going to contact another dealership.

If you have a MT and the TOB has not been replaced with the new version, you may want to have that done.

Read the procedure, the spark plugs will come out, in order to pressurize the cylinder, to hold the valves in place.

Called the service manager to confirm and he said that he will speak with his service advisers so they do not give false information going forward.
