Intec and the law...
Anyone have any problems with these tail lights? Durability, Law or Inspection wise?
Thinking of getting them but I noticed they're not DOT legal. |

I have Valentis and just to avoid any possible hassle I swap back to stock for inspections. Takes about 5 minutes tops and they are only on for a day a year haha.

As far as durability or being pulled over... The few I know of with intecs haven't had any issues.

I've been followed by sheriffs and cops in this small town as we're going about our business. Sometimes at day, sometimes at night. I have the sequential valentis and the blinking 4th brake light AND Intec's sequential headlights. No problems. I hear the CHP is more ornery though. I think it really depends on who's looking at your car, but I doubt you'll encounter any problems

problem is that one of my stock ones has a cracked lens, not sure that will pass inspection...lights still work fine though.
Also, is the carbon version tail light real carbon weave with clear coat or is it just printed vinyl sticker kinda thing? Cant really tell from pictures I've seen. Last edited by Aluma007; 05-08-2018 at 10:56 PM. Reason: forgot to ask |

Im in Texas too and I passed inspection with my Valenti's. You shouldn't have any trouble passing inspection with Intec's as all they do is just check to make sure they are actually working.

probably true, just worried that it doesn't have the DOT legal sticker on it like the valenti's and the buddy clubs do...

Anyways, I put quick disconnects on my buddies LED blinkers on his WRX... They are DOT/SAE stamped and still don't pass here in VA. Some inspectors are like that... |
