Ordering process.
I went in last weekend to test drive the FR-S and I needed to make my mind up on colour. I gave a $1000 deposit and had a credit check done. Got a call yesterday from the dealer and ordered. Should be a couple of months, but is there anything in writing I should get for now or is that it?

I hope you at least got a receipt or some sort of paperwork showing the vehicle order with your options, etc. A car purchase isn't something to be left up to the honor system like the local bicycle shop special ordering some tires or something...
I'm not sure how Scion/Toyota handle it, but with Subaru I have a printout showing exactly the above with my Vehicle Order Number (VON) with which I can contact Subaru of America to check on it's status. |

When I ordered they didn't have any detailed information wrt delivery date & status until the car was practically already on the truck headed for the dealer.
Fortunately I only had to wait two weeks -- they had told me to expect six to eight |

We actually stopped in at the Subaru dealer before ordering with the Scion dealer -- they wouldn't even take our order.
Said they might be able to take our order in November at the earliest and even then there would probably be a waiting list. They had a white BRZ in the showroom but wouldn't let anyone sit in it as it had already been sold |

With Subaru they have a VON as soon as the car is ordered, and I would think it's the same with Scion, so they should be able to give you that. Until you officially buy the car there will probably be no real paper work.
