Clutch Spring C-Clip Size

Hi Everyone,

I finished installing my MTEC Clutch Spring, but I dropped the c-clip. All I heard was a quiet clang and it was gone forever. So a couple questions:

(1) Can the missing c-clip possibly cause any issues down the line? (e.g., shorting wires, etc.) Should I try to find it?
(2) What size is the c-clip?
(3) How the heck do I get it on when I find a replacement? My fingers didn't work, and I tried clamping it on using pliers which caused it to fly somewhere.

Thanks!

My local napa has a kit full of little C-clips like that. I'd take the pin to local parts store and find one that works.

I had the same problem but worse. When I knocked out the clevis pin it flew behind the metal panel on the left against the fire wall.

Perhaps it fell behind their somehow?? I used a magnet pen and was able to fish it out.

I tried running a magnet around but don't remotely know where it fell. =(

I even taped up the crevice between the carpet to prevent this.

It's twice further away that you think it should be .........

Handy tool ...... which you will only use twice in your lifetime ..... but it will be worth it.

Yep, it's definitely a goner. I'll give that tool a shot!

Anybody happen to know the diameter/size of the pin/c-clip? Would save me the trouble of removing everything

I don't know the size of the clip ...... but, if you don't want to take the pin out and into the store with you ....... I'd suggest you just go to the store and buy about a half dozen sizes that look like they would fit. Get two of your best guess size, in case the first one escapes .....

Just did the same. Not sure what I'm going to do with 200 of these things though.

I got lucky when I popped it off... it flew off but the grease made it stick to my hand when it landed.

I lost mine before too. Luckily, one of my friends is a Toyota tech and was able to pull the part number:

"Clip: SU003-00058"

Anyone know if the c-clip can be caught with a magnet?
