WORKS Exhale AB (Axle Back) Exhaust
The WORKS Exhale AB (Axle Back) Exhaust is part of our modular exhaust series for the FR-S and BRZ that allow you to quickly and easily mix and match the MP (Mid Pipe) and AB (Axle Back) with any of the factory exhaust components.
![]() ![]() ![]() The WORKS Exhale AB (Axle Back) Exhaust is a straight through design. Features 64mm (2.5") tubing, stainless steel 455mm (18") glasspack resonator and beautiful 102mm (4.0") double walled (prevents yellowing and heat exposure to rear bumper), stainless polished tips with the "WORKS" etched logo. The tips are also positioned to match the contour of the bumper. Direct bolt-on to the factory flange and utilizes all 4 hanger locations with OEM-style mushroom end hangers for precise fitment and swaps back to stock in minutes. Includes gasket and simple installation instructions. By itself, the gains (~2 HP) are minimal in NA (naturally aspirated) form. Further gains can be obtained by including the WORKS MP to complete the cat-back system and/or WORKS ECU Brain Flash P1. The WORKS AB will save you 10.5lbs compared to stock for an additional performance advantage. Through the use of a stainless steel 18" glasspack, the Exhale AB has a slightly louder and more aggressive sound than our Exhale ABM (which uses a muffler instead), but is still mild mannered during idle and cruising. The controlled, deep, throaty growl is a tone that some say is the best sounding FR-S/BRZ exhaust they've heard! Price: $369 Remember that if you have not used our ft86club discount code, we are offering forum members a one-time coupon for 10% off of your entire order for WORKS brand products! A couple videos to give you a better idea of the AB's sound.

I did a post on this earlier today but it seems to not be there, so I'll repeat it here
It looks to me like only the right tip is muffled and most of the gasses will just go out the left tip because there will be less resistance to flow there. No?

Good question. That is correct that one side passes through the resonator and the other does not. That said, we spent a lot time tuning the left side outlet size (it is slightly downsized) to achieve a good balance between the sound and flow through the two outlets. This results in both outlets being functional. The design allows for simplicity in construction, smaller packaging and weight savings all while still producing the same power gains as a straight pipe in naturally aspirated cars. Cheers.

Fyi the axelback does not bolt right up to the 2017 86/BRZ. Holes on the flange do not line up.

I have this on my car. Love the sound of it. Has enough rumble and growl but not so loud that it'll be annoying.
