86 parts that are interchanglable to FR-S

As the new 86 rolls out there are some parts that really intrigue me that would make my FR-S a hybrid of what I like from the new car and the old car. Namely the tail lights and the interior alcantara dash trim especially because it's one piece! Does anyone know if these can be put on the old car?

Also does anyone know what they cost?

Thanks in advance!

I would say that about 90% of the new stuff could just bolt on the old car. some things such as the displays will not work without the proper sensors and ECM/BCM flashes though.

They will all be freakin' expensive and you will have to really, REALLY want them to pay the prices.

...for about 6-12 months, until they are no longer new and shiny and all the 2017 owners begin modding their cars.

Seriously, I have never owned a car with such a great supply of barely used parts (courtesy of the large number of owners that mod their cars) as the FR-S.

Yes. Once used ones hit the market they will go down a bit. Not as cheap as the used pre 17s parts though since there will be a much larger market for the 17s pieces and the prices will be much higher. Unless of course the sellers have no idea of supply and demand in which case there could be bargains.

Forgot to mention... the other source of barely used parts: the inevitable "I just totaled my new 2017" thread coming soon to the forum.

Should we start a pool?

Yup, that's where my future tail lights will be coming from. There or a recycler.

Probably too late. They just haven't found the forum yet. I am pretty sure that the most common first post on here is "Is this totaled?".

Why would they be more expensive? What is the asking price from the dealer for stock tails?

There's a thread around where someone looked up the price and they were like $400 a side.

Found it .... $462 each

OEM and especially dealer prices are always high. They are not in the retail parts business really so if you want to buy parts from them you either really need them or insurance is paying.

Plus the parts all have a "T" on the box, add about 20% over the price of Scion parts. I want to know if the FR-S head and tails will fit a '17 86. Screw that stupid LED crap.

I would do the same! I don't need a baby Lexus.

The tails will for sure and I would think the heads would.
