Front bumper gap? :(

Hello all,

I have had a BRZ for about 3 months now and have put only 4,000 miles on it. This weekend I was road tripping her when I got caught in the rain. I ended up going through some really big puddles and my wheel wells took a pounding. Later I looked to see if there was any damage and now my front bumper gap is off slightly around the headlights? Any Ideas? Pics will follow later today!

Firmly push it back in place. It is just held on with clips and they are just loose.

The only fix for now is a set of the quick-release latches, like these:

Or you can go for the super-ricey rubber band method. But don't do that.

I thought I saw someone was importing little metal tabs that mount over the holes in the bumper.... Can't remember the thread. I'll see if I can find it.

Found it.....

No telling how well they work yet but it's another avenue. I'm sure a handy person could make a set these for themselves using some stainless steel sheet metal and a few tools.

I'm guessing the reason for the sagging bumper cover is from the plastic tabs getting worn? I have yet to have my front end apart.

Yeah! I was going to say... but you found it before me. Tbh instead of mental, stronger plastic might be better imo, so don't have to worry bout rust or anything.

C'mon vendors, this is million dollar invention for our cars. lol

Coming back to say exactly that. I would hope that for 20$ per pair for the ones on japanparts that they would be stainless.

I'm very eager to see how the bumper reinforcement kit will work. For $20, this looks to be the cleanest solution yet and will eliminate my hesitation on removing the front bumper.
