Toe Rods with Heim joints making noise?

I just installed PBM's toe rods on the rear of my car, the previous set I had were very inferior and a few months of driving they were squeaking awfully loud and upon taking them apart they were rusted.

Anyways, I decided to pick up a set a PBM's to try, however it seems now that whenever I go over a bump, especially when one side moves more, i get a pop, almost like something is hitting. Everything is tight, and it looks like when sitting in my driveway that the toe rods are a bit crooked and very close to touching the sides of the rod (where the reaches its outward most movement)

No they seem solid, but I may have just figured out what it was..

The PBM toe rods are pretty bulky, more so on one side where the threadded slip joints clamp, I have a suspicion they are hitting the traction rods.

I'll see about it when I get home.

Don't heim joints make noise? I remember having upper control arms in full heim joints in my previous car and it made noise when going over bump. All bolts were tight and solid. So I ended up getting 1 side heim joint and other end factory style bushing and it didn't make noise since then.

Not if they are working properly, they just transmit all the vibration and motion from the wheel to the chassis so the noise you feel is increased.

Ones that are low quality or worn out will make noise.

For the record, heim joint = ball joint = tie rod end (both inner and outer). If it makes any noise, change ASAP. That hammering will eventually result in a catastrophic fatigue failure.
