Unhappy One less Ultramarine Monogram due to Texas Floods

Well, last Wednesday was a very saw day for me. I lost my baby. I was driving down the street in the early morning in a heavy rain storm next thing I know it was like I was in a swimming pool. The water came up so fast with no warning. I didn't know these cars float. Within seconds water was up to the chest in the car. The engine was off by now, I hit the push to start button to try and turn the electrical system off. It did nothing. I had to get out the car, I opened the door and the car was a good two feet above the ground because I was thinking I'd step on the street. Nope, I had to start swimming. The most heart breaking thing was when I got to shore, was watching my car floating with all the lights on in the water like it was in a swimming pool. The was in Dallas off of Henderson ave. I never would think a city street could flood like that. There was a good 6 feet of water in the street. Here are the photos.

Wow that sucks, but at least no one was swept away inside it and you're alright. What's the plan going forward?

OH SHIT!!!!!
I presume insurance will cover it? That is frequently the way with severe flooding. One minute all is cool the next it is a river.

I loved that car, and I have been looking for another one. It took a few days but I found another Ultramarine Monogram with 1 owner and low miles. Chase and Jaguar has a promotion running so I’m also buying a Jaguar XE R-Sport in Blue. It comes out next month. So it kind of worked out, but I still wish this did not happen.

It’s a flash food. These things come out of nowhere. It was raining so hard I could almost see nothing. I was driving down the street and next thing I know it was a river. The street has a slight decline in it which is very hard to tell. I didn’t know how low the street was till I swam out of my car. The street was 6 feet or more lower than the parking lots that surrounded it. So all the water is going to one area, that where is flooded. There have been entire freeways under water in Houston. It crazy how fast these floods can happen in heavy rain. I never knew this was an area that flooded.

Yes, Allstate totaled the car and they have been very nice. They are paying for the rental, still working on the final value, but there has never been anything wrong with the car. I have zero deductible on comprehensive and since this was not an accident, this falls under comprehensive and so far I have paid nothing. Allstate has covered everything.

Whoas! Glad you are okay and that the insurance will cover the car.
Months ago my boss had the same thing happen but the car was parked on the street. Flash flood happened quite quickly and water was all the way up to the glove compartment. Insurance covered it too. Now my boss has PTSD when it rains quite heavily.

Too bad; glad you are OK; good that the insurance covered it; I'm sure a new Jag will help you recover.
