2022 Honda SI Sedan

Looks like the embargo was lifted as of today. Really like the new SI. Price is right with correct blend of components from the Touring Sport and to keep the price affordable while still focusing on the key aspects that make the SI good.

Key takeaways for improvements:

Body stiffness and control
Better Dampers(not electronic)
Light weight Fly Wheel (reduces Rev-hang)
Less NVH compared to 10th Gen
Better ECU tuning to allow power all the way to redline
Rev Match from Type-R

Here are my 2 favorite video's

On flip side, all the reviews I've read have said the rev hang is still there and just as bad. They also took away the higher spec stereo the previous generation had, and also took away heated seats. They're not even an option now (though Canadians still get them standard).

A few thousand dollars more, for arguably less? Honda seems to be taking a few pages from Subaru's playbook.

Inflation seems to be a real problem right now so makes sense. They likely also are trying to put those features into the integra.

1500 cc turbo? I'd rather go electric, plus front wheel drive burnouts make me cringe

1) no inflation for new GR86
2) but you can get those features on other Civics (some at least). You can't spin the decontenting as anything but insulting.

Though full disclosure b/c I'm not impartial. I'd never buy anything from 21st century Honda. Boring, big and ugly (pick 2).

After 18 years and 6 cars this is exactly what killed my love affair with Mitsubishi!
Same car same trim level 4 years apart lost about half of what I liked about the model. Price increased at the regular rate though.
