Help request - disabling speed sensor on FR-S base 2014 H/U

There are similar threads, but they all involve Nav systems or are for the BRS.
The annoyance is that when trying to make a call, if you are traveling at 5 mph or more, the contact list is locked out. Personally, I think it's safer to do a quick scroll through the contact list than to dial a number from scratch.
Does anyone know how to defeat this on this particular H/U?

I'm working on a module that will allow the use of the functions that are locked out while the vehicle is moving but let you turn it on and off so use of the navigation isn't compromised. I just need to log some miles on it to work all the bugs out and make sure it will be a good stable solution.

Sounds great. Does it matter that the unit in question does not have nav?

No, the idea is to make sure it will work with any model/radio.
