MAPerformance Oil Cooler Kit Now Available!

Hey everyone! During the initial build of our turbo kit over the winter, we also developed an oil cooler kit for the FA20. We are now ready to release it to the wild! We all know by now the high oil temps the FA20 can see from time to time, especially when heavily track driven, or with force induction.

Our kit features:

  • Mocal 13 row oil cooler
  • Thermostatically controlled Oil filter "sandwhich" plate with adapter fittings
  • 10an nylon braided hose
  • 10an hose ends / black
  • Installation hardware
Sale thread can be found here for pricing- http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65916

Finally got the cooler installed on my car today. Took a couple of shots of it installed. We plan on keeping enough line so that you are able to mount it anywhere on the lower plastic tray.

We will also be doing an install guide to go along with the kits as well. We should have that together soon. here is a sneak peak of that

I think the only one we had ready to ship just went on my car for fitment and testing. However, we can get those part's fairly quickly. We should actually have already order a bunch to assemble.

I really can't find an exact BTU rating for this specific core. If I were to make an educated guess based on size, it might be in the 20,000 rating.

That is correct. I know it is hard to see in the picture above, but on my FRS, it is between the intercooler and radiator. I know that may not be an ideal location for some, but we do offer enough line to mount it anywhere on that lower plastic piece, or if someone wanted to mount it to the crash beam bar as well.

What was the reasoning for mounting it there vs anywhere else? Room, visibility, personal preference?

Room, and being more universal I guess you could say. I also do like the side mount behind the fog light or turn signal light on the FRS, but there isn't as much air flow to those areas without cutting the bezel out, or purchasing a side vent. Although, that would be my personal favorite. We just wanted to have a more install friendly product, and didn't want the customer to have to purchase another item, or cut their bezel out for it to work it's best if that makes sense.

Are the lines long enough to mount it behind the fog Ian?
