Buick Regal Tail lights?

Is it just me or the do the 2nd gen BRZ tail lights strongly resemble those from the Buick Regal? Saw a Regal on the road today as saw the resemblance ... lol

It also resembles the Acura NSX taillights.
Im sure a bunch of other cars have similar looking taillights.

Its one of the negatives of the 2nd gen. Not a dealbreaker to me but its just something thats a bit more generic looking than the first gen.

That's the problem with cars today, everything looks like something else now.

There was exactly the same situation happened in the '90s ,they just didn't have the internet. We have all seen so many meme pictures with our favourite cars like skyline,240sx etc and some mainstream cars featuring similar design.Even supercars used to take tailights from other cars. For example Lotus Esprit didn't just had similar design with AE86 tailights,it had THE SAME exactly borrowed. How would you feel if you own an Esprit back then and you actually knew about it? McLaren F1 i believe it had some truck tailights? Lamborghini Diablo had 300zx z32 front lights.

Yes general tailights design is on the same path but BRZ/GR86 ones are SO much better and clean!

We aren't talking about just lights though.
We mean entire cars look like other cars.

Buick Regal Tail lights?

Oh man it looks exactly like the Buick! 4 wheels! 2 RED tail lights! Same number of exhaust! They both have see-through windows!

Order cancelled. Picked up a used Buick for 10 bucks.

/s

Seriously are people even trying to look at the proportions of the car?

If it only had the Buick Regal GS engine.

3.6-liter V-6 310 horsepower and 282 lb-ft of torque

Meh
They are pretty much bog standard current gen Subaru tail lights. The whole line up is just some variation on the same theme.
It is the current popular style so something similar will appear across many makes and models. This whole "all cars look the same now" is not a new or unusual thing since it happens with trends throughout automotive history.

Ten years from now those lights will look just as dated as the 2013 ones do to some people now.

Should I be worried that I find the Buick Regal to be a rather handsome automobile?

I wouldn't be caught dead driving a Chevy Cobalt, but a Buick Regal...

It’s an Opel Insignia really, so you’re forgiven.

IMO Open Insignia was one of the prettiest cars in its class back when it came out.

In person, the depth of the taillights give it its own character.
Being that it is low, you’re looking over it most of the time…whereas as in pictures, the camera angle doesn’t capture the top of the taillights—which is a flat plane that integrates into the rear quarter panel and also becomes the corners of the upper half of the rear end.
