It's one of the loudest exhausts available for our twins.

Yeah it is definitely more quiet than the 80, and it's still quite loud! So that should give you an idea of how loud the 80 is, haha!
The 60 does sound really aggressive though and has a nice growl thanks to the titanium piping. Quote:

I had the 80r. it was amazing for the first hour of owning it. Literally sold it three days later because it was TOO loud. This was with 1 cat and 1 resonator, and then the 1 resonator it comes with. I'd recommend the 60.

I have a Tomei 60S and it's pretty loud. Like ricer loud. 60R is louder, and straighter. 80 is the loudest, you can definitely get a cop's attention just cruising on the street.

Stupid loud. But sounds amazing. If you do decide to get it leave the rest of the exhaust stock to keep it in bearable territory

Those are better choices if you don't want to attract unnecessary attention.
If you like attention and loud cars, by all means go with something from Tomei.

I have the 80r with the rest of the exhaust stock (had it on for 3 years already!). It's tolerable until you get on the freeway (I drive around 2-2.5k rpm around the city w/ back seats up and no silencer). Once you start to hit around 65-70, it starts to drone pretty badly but it also depends on how much throttle you're putting. With carefully throttle position, it actually doesn't drone as much as one would think. At WOT, it sounds amazing. I had been pulled over a few times but none of the police have ever said anything about my exhaust. If I had to rate how loud it is from a driver's perspective, my tires(BFG Sport Comps 2) are more noisy than the 80r on cruising speeds with steady throttle. I am also able to keep a convo with my gf or anyone else that is sitting in the front passenger seat with no issues (without yelling, and sorry for those can fit in the back, you get droned out).
Edit: If you start adding parts to the rest of the exhaust, I'd avoid getting this catback. One local who had a full tomei setup (headers-overpipe-front pipe(80mm)-80r) had like the loudest setup I've ever heard for our twin. You can literally hear him coming from a mile away and you can not even hold a convo in his car and it droned like crazy. |
