Ferrari like gear lever ?

Alright so I'm not even sure what to call this part , I guess it's the gear slots ? but I have drove ferraris before and I love the way they have their lever pattern (see picture) , frs/Brz is very similar to this ... I don't have the resources to get this done but If anyone does please do so!

I always felt that while gated shifters are cool looking, theyre a pain in the ass to live with every day.

I think the problem a lot of the time is there isn't a whole lot of room, so the metal ends up being very thin between the gates. If I remember correctly, someone tried to do it on the Genesis Coupe but it just didn't work out so well.

They really don't. They don't like to be rushed. You're much slower between 2-3 and 4-5. Also, they have to be machined to work with whatever shifter you have. If you get one laid out for the stock shifter, that may not work with an aftermarket short throw. The shift pattern might be tighter or shorter, or even repositioned.

There is a reason this is not a common aftermarket/custom mod to the thousands of sports cars that don't feature one from the factory. You give up much more than you gain. You're better off with a shifter that feels like a rifle bolt than a shifter that looks it.

You may be right but they can look so damn cool. Maybe because all the exotic cars had them when I was a kid and that left an impression on me. Of course all the exotics back then were actual pieces of crap.

Actually seemed ok to me...quite positive in the way they shift as OEM, I have driven BMW's and Porsches's that aren't as positive....not sure about an "aftermarket" gate though, I suspect you may be right they are compromised, but maybe they just need a little work to get right?

Oh they are very very slick looking. And the exotics, up until this generation (458/F12 Berlinetta and Aventador) have them. I just can't imagine making my car shift worse for aesthetics.

Correct. They look great but they really like slow shifts, you have to be precise with shifting motions, etc..

Since I'm a function>form guy, I would never want one. But they do look cool.

I rather like the shifter they use on the Volvo; it's pretty cool-looking IMO.

I would honestly be happy with a proper leather boot and just a metal lockout ring; less plastic and more metal would help to make this car feel more upscale.

I rowed through the gears in a Gallardo Balboni earlier this year (not driving, just sitting) and ermahgerd did it feel so good! Just like Richard Hammond said on Top Gear: "it feels like shaking hands with an old friend." If they don't like to be shifted quickly though, that's a problem.
