Rust developing on a/c compressor pulley

Working in dealers and repair shops i always see subarus with this issue..now its building up a rusty dust on my a/c pulley..What is the cause of this?

Maybe, since the A/C clutch is sometimes magnetized, it’s attracting metal particles from the surrounding air …..

Pics? The clutch is metal on metal, so it WILL rust if you don't use the A/C (much like brakes that are sitting)

my two sub pulleys start bleed out oil and make bearing sound so i replace the bearing
