TRD Factory Options

I tried searching but it was impossible to find anything specific.

I'm looking to buy an FR-S either at the end of winter or spring next year, going through the online configurator I see a bunch of TRD performance parts like exhaust and air filter.

I was wondering if these were really worth the price or if it's best to just get it completely stock and get something aftermarket?

How worried are you about your warranty?

This is definitely something I'm conscious of, but I'm not planning anything crazy right off the bat.

If you're concerned about your warranty then I would use all TRD dealership installed parts. That way they will have a hard time denying any warranty claims

It depends on the part. Both JDM and USDM TRD parts can be awesome or crap or somewhere in between. Most are white-labeled from other MFGs (like TRD Springs = Eibach Pro-Kit), others are made specific for TRD.

If you are not looking for anything too specific, I think TRD could be good, like their exhaust, if you like it, why not. Are there better deals to be had? Probably. Are there "better" or "different" sounding exhausts? Most likely, again subject to your criteria.
Decide if you like what they offer and go ahead. Sure is nice to have "warranty" behind these, but realistically, are they going to void your warranty on an engine, because you put on a different fart pipe? Probably not, most extreme cases they can claim so...

Ask this yourself, why do you want those parts? There's not much "performance" about them, sure they do add to the overall experience, but don't think that your drop in filter will give you +10 whp.

lol I wasn't thinking +10 from the air filter alone but I was hoping that if I got all of them there would be some quantifiable increase in power

A catback and an air filter might net you 10HP on a cold day. It's pretty marginal, despite the sound and the fury that those mods might achieve. The biggest bottleneck is the header, and that's not part of the TRD parts catalog.

The TRD springs are pretty solid, but don't pay the MSRP on them.
