Verus splitter material?

I'm trying to find out what material Verus is using for their front splitter. Only thing I have found is it's a "carbon thermoplastic", which doesn't really tell me much. I've damaged my splitter a few times now and would like to just make my own replacement pieces. I respect that info may be closely guarded business knowledge so PM me anything helpful if you prefer. Thanks

Carbon thermoplastic is what it is. Think of it as a black rubber/plastic.

You can make a splitter out of almost any material that holds the shape and handles the force. I've seen Lexan, aluminum and wood. In fact, if you already have their splitter (I do too) then just use it as a template to make another splitter with one of the mentioned materials.

I’ve seen 1/2” birch veneered plywood used for DYI splitter projects (see YouTube).

That’s what I have gone to. $50 for a sheet and when it inevitably gets destroyed it’s a lot cheaper to replace. Seems to cut grass better too. I wanted to do alumilite but it’s hard to get and expensive. Still cheaper than buying a splitter.

Russian birch. It has more layers than standard plywood and it stronger. It's used in furniture making.

Bitch is what we run in our WRL car. Cheap and easy to cut. Plus, the bolts will likely rip out of the wood before it damages the car if it gets into something and pulled down.

We cut 2 at a time and always have at least one, preferably two, spares on hand.
