Head Unit random reset/power cycle ?

In the past 2 months I've had two isolated instances where the NAV seems to completely reset while driving. The initial dialog comes up and I had to answer the default questions regarding language/location settings.

Anyone else have this happen ?

I have had it happen. It'll happen to me every time when I listen to a certain album on my USB drive. Its the same file types as the rest but every time I listen to that particular album it'll reset.

First thing I'd imagine is a bad connection. If you have any USB devices as mentioned above, maybe try removing it and see if it happens again. If not, you could try re-seating the fuse or talking to Subaru about swapping it out under warranty.

See if you can eliminate variables to narrow down a potential cause.

I'm pretty sure its an MP3 or some other file on the USB doing it. There was a thread about this a long while back.

Ive had it happen. It used to be triggered by hard cornering or somethign. But it went away. It was embarrassing when you have a passenger in the car.

Not to be the typical forum jerk, but please use the function once in a while man..

There are many threads on this topic. It is the flash drive/usb you have plugged in. Do not use folders on the usb drive and use a usb drive smaller than 64gb otherwise the head unit crashes and or resets itself.

This happens to mine all the time and my techs at work hate me because its so intermittent its hard to prove when and why. However if you have no usb plugged in and this is happening you probably have a faulty head unit and should get it replaced however I am sure you have a usb drive plugged in.
