FT86 advise please

Hi all

I have recently been looking for headers on this forum. I have looked through the members classifieds and commercial classifieds.
So I bumped into a post on the commercial classifieds for the "HKS Equal length header with catalytic converter. Included Front pipe. HKS Super manifold with Catalizer SPEC - R $1025.00 MSRP." So I tried to make contact with the vendor via PM on the forum. My subject line to the vendor was "HKS header" then I proceeded to ask if there was any discounts since I was a member of this forum. The vendor was prompt to respond asking for my mailing zip code which then I also quickly replied with. Not much later I was quoted for $995 with shipping for HKS header. I was excited for this great find. So just to confirm we were both on the same page I gave my email address so we can start the process. I emailed the vendor and wanted to confirm what I was getting was what had been posted on the forum so I sent a snap shot of the item with the $1025 price. The vendor then replies to me after I sent the snapshot and says he quoted me $ 995 price for the HKS non catted header...... The header that I wanted, which was the one I sent the snapshot of with $1025 price, is $1735!
The vendor explained, after a few back and forth emails, that it was a mistake on price and could only discount it to $1699 shipped.
I was willing to understand their mistake on price and was willing to settle at $1600.
I have not gotten a reply yet..
What would you guys do if you were in my position?
I was thinking BBB but I am trying to see if they will correct this error on their part.

Don't have much to offer here except that $1699 shipped seems like a good deal for the hks catted header.

How is this a BBB issue? You sent the snapshot, they promptly told you the price was wrong and corrected it to you. No money has changed hands. Seems like you just hope they come back with 1600, and if not, dont buy or do. Dont see what the big deal is unless you have already sent money.

It was a simple pricing error where no money exchanged hands. No harm, no foul. If they don't agree to your price then move on and see if a different vendor can.

I don't see a problem here at all. The pricing sounds right. There was just an error on which HKS part you were referring to (one catted and one non catted)

*on another note if you do end up purchasing I would love to hear the setup. I have HKS Hipower exhaust with Borla UEL headers. If I decide to switch to EL and Catted I want the HKS also

Looks like a simple pricing error. Hell, it wasn't even a pricing error. Just miscommunication about which item you wanted pricing on.

and the BBB? Really?

WTF does everyone put the BBB on such a high horse who rides on the back of a golden unicorn? The BBB is a NOBODY.

Its a fancy yelp.

1600? I'd drop that as a part of a payment for an SC hehe. Just good for thought. Referring to your post OP, pricing errors will happen and it's up to the vendor to uphold or not. I agee with the others, since no money exchange has happened then pursuing it to the likes of the BBB is just silly.
