Lowering my frs

Hey guys, I wanted to lower my car an inch, whats the best cheapest way to do this? Just springs? Spring and shocks? I'm hoping to do it at myself. What would you guys recommend?

I've been battling this decision for a few months now, and reading till my eyes bleed. As far as cheapest, springs would be best. I've been leaning towards RS*R SuperDowns, not the 'lowest' or cheapest, but from all I've read, they work well with the OEM suspension geometry. Sure there are cheaper solutions, but at what cost?

Obviously, the 'best' way would be coilovers, but that's a whole different ball game.

..btw don't take what I say too critical, I don't know squat about suspension setups and tuning. Lol

Do some searching but at just 1 inch, springs are fine. I run Eibach Pro Springs on stock struts without issues so far.

If you just want the lowered look without sacrificing comfort, then just a spring change will do. The eibach pro kit is popular and will easily achieve the above requirement. It drops your ride height by 1" which is plenty enough for daily commuting in Australian road conditions.

They're pretty straight forward to install, don't rush, just take it easy and allow yourself a full day if you haven't done it before. This way you can make sure you triple check every step. Check out the DIY section in this forum, lots of helpful tips in there.

Just need basic tools, a decent set of sockets, torque wrench, and cold beer. Spring compressor is optional if you follow the "simpler way" method shown in the DIY section. I did 3 spring swaps without a compressor no problems.

What's your budget? Plan to track it occasionally/often?

I have the "TRD" lowering springs on mine.
The funny part is the box they came in is inked RS*S with absolutely no reference to TRD whatsoever (or at lest that I can tell as all the labels are in Japanese only).
They bring it down an inch and a bit and I rather like the ride and handling with them.
I didn't pay full price as I bargained them into the car when I bought it so am not sure how the cost stacks up against other brands. The nice part is, since they are authorized TRD parts they do not impact my warranty (in fact they are covered by my warranty).

for just a 1" drop, i love my hotchkis springs and stock shocks. ride comfort is almost like stock, while handling is noticeably firmer. anything lower than 1", i'd recommend getting a full adjustable coilover system that has matching tuned shocks for it.

Best: swift or rce springs tend to be a favorite. I have rce and love them. I will soon also be trying the springs from Mann Engineering as I won them in a raffle. Rates are similar to swift

Cheapest: cut the stock ones and bounce away in joy
