A few questions about FRS Cos. Mods?
1) Is it possible to buy GT86 headlights?
2) Upon release of the 2015 model... I believe Toyota said they will offer previous owners to upgrade to the new brushings etc responsible for the better handling in 2015 models. Has this been made available? 3) I am finally in the market to buy.... Would you pick 2015 FRS or 2014 Monogram? Thanks |

1) you can buy GT86 headlights depending where you are from if your in the US buy the European ones if your in a place where it's right hand drive buy the JDM ones if you want the GT86 headlights your going to pay an arm and a leg as they have to be re pinned as well as a motor for auto level Winjets cost less and look just like the gt86 headlights
2) I haven't heared anything about "bushings" but anything that fits on the 2015 to my knowledge will fit in a 2013. 3) Neither as I intend to modify my car there is no change on power just cool little features. |

1. Yes, but be prepared to spend $1k. Unless you go monogram.
2. Yes but why? There's so much more you can do for "better" handling in the aftermarket world. But then again, the "better" you make it, the less it slides...therefore "better" depends on user's perspective. 3. Monogram. Push to start ftmfw along with creature comforts. And if you actually find the color you want right now, the discounts would make it even better. Hopefully dealer didn't molest it much on the lot.

I can't speak as I don't have winjets, I have OEM Headlights from the gt86 with the HIDs.
But looking at a car with Winjets, you can't notice the difference

Monogram is the way to go if you want the 86 headlight! if you buy new 2015 and than add $1000 for 86 headlight, you might as well pay extra $1000 and get monogram. I own the white out Monogram and it's a lot better than regular FRS. Smart key, 86 Headlights, heated leather seats, heated side view mirrors, navigation, bespoke radio, dual zone climate control, push to start, rear spoiler

I am so torn between all these cars its insane...
I really like the new silver in the 2015 model. Plus I am thinking I might want whatever minor handling enhancements they did. I have been on these forums for a little over a year and a base FRS was always my last choice... and now its time to buy and I am confused haha. I like the simplicity of the base FRS. Want some of the features of the monogram I was thinking... I'll go with base FRS manual with navi and then add winjets I started off with liking the brz but the whole mustache ordeal.... turned me off and I cant seem to un-see it sometimes. Maybe I buy a limited BRZ in the silver color and then change the front fascia with a frs and trade subi badges for toyota? haha... I have more questions here: 1) Is it wise to get a car with a spoiler so when you ultimately do want to put an aftermarket spoiler.... you don't have drill holes and such in the non-spoiler frs? 2) For the 10 Series, assuming they are still around, can their glowing badges be turned of or modified to not glow? can they be changed to Toyota? 3) What is your opinion about the TRD parts Toyota is selling for the frs? the sway bars? wheels? lowering kit? exhaust? are any of them worth getting.... or aftermarket is a better bargain? |

Pretty open ended questions with answers that will be very subjective and cause all kinds of dispute! I have almost all the TRD add ons (all your list except wheels plus drop in filter) on my car and really love them. Now in fairness I didn't pay full price so can't join the debate on value for dollar. I drove a stock 13, my 14 with the TRD add ons and a stock 15 and with the TRD suspension up grades I felt mine drove closer to the 15 then the 13. The benefits are that they are specifically made for the car so don't cause other outlying issues and they don't void your warranty (if you are worried about that). You really need to make up your own mind though as you can get so many conflicting answers on here you may soon be totally confused. |

So is this an issue with product quality of the winjets? or risks faced due to opening up the factory seal of the headlights?

2)You can change them to Toyota, but you'll have a hole. The badges only light up when you open your doors or unlock the car. Other than that, they never turn on. 3)Aftermarket is cheaper for the same if not better parts.
