Exhaust Alignment?
Hey guys, OCD got the better of me and I'm wondering where you guys would go to get an exhaust realigned. I've been told I may need a cut and weld to get it straight.
Corsa CBE, if other owners may be able to chip in. Thanks. |

It shouldn't require any cut and weld. Typically just loosening the bolts will do it. Start with just the muffler and if that's not enough work your way forward

First loosen the bolts and align it as best you can that way. Then, if it still needs more straightening put worm clamps around the rubber hangers and tighten/loosen them until you get it straight. Managed to get my friends exhaust perfectly straight with this method and only had to use two worm clamps on the exhaust hangers closest to the rear.

Hey guys, got the update here.
Original installer made a few mistakes, given it was their first Corsa exhaust install. A few things included not tightening the clamps down enough, putting the exhaust hanger into the rubber sleeve instead of the actual slot it was supposed to go into, and finally a minor adjustment at the front pipe to prevent rubbing of the midpipe against the under panels. All these played a factor in the misalignment. Went to JRP (thanks Stav and team) who fixed the alignment right away. They have installed several of these exhaust systems on our car so they knew right away what the possible issues could be. Don't have pics, but essentially the passenger side poked out about 1-1.5 inches over the drivers side, and one sat higher than the other as well. Went back twice to try to get it fixed at the original installer but they could not figure out the problem and wrote it off as the exhausts fault. Anyway, problem is fixed now and it looks and sounds great! |
