Need more camber from HKS Hipermax Coilovers

I am currently running HKS Hipermax IV coilovers for my FRS and even with the camber plates maxed out i am only getting -1.7 degrees of camber up front. I would really like to get up to -2.5 to -3 degrees of camber. Should i get camber bolts(SPC or Whitline)to help me get additional camber? I noticed some people are getting up to -3 degrees no problem with other coilovers. Is it just because their camber plates have more adjustability? Thanks in advance!

Make sure your camber plates weren't installed backwards. You can add additional camber by adding a camber bolt or the OEM crash bolt into the top slot of the strut.

I was able to get over -3 with the OEM crash bolts and camber plates set to max.

Camber plates are labeled on the top with "L" and "R" markings and i verified that they are on the correct side. What Coilovers are you running? Thanks!

Your camber plates can probably turn 180 degrees. See if that will net you more camber. Maybe taking a picture of how the plates look like might help.

I have Eibach R2 coilovers. They come with camber plates.

How low can you go in the front adjustment-wise? A standard MacPherson strut camber is set by the camber plates, and also limited (to some extent) by how much you can lower the car via suspension.

If you can't slam the car you can't get the camber you want.

Here is a pic so you can get a general idea of the ride height of the car. The rear is as low as it can go but the front can still be lowered more. Ill try to take a better side profile pic of the car when i get a chance.

We've seen different coilover kits that will inherently give more or less negative camber based on the way their lower upright mount is designed.

Like ayau stated, I'd suggest installing the subaru crash bolts and max those to full negative. Then use the upper camber plates to fine tune the camber. Both may need to be maxed out if you are looking for -3° though.

Good Luck!

Hey I just got a set of these and have a terrible clunk in my rear driver side. Have you had any clunking issues? Can't figure out how to get rid of it.

Mine are not maxed out and I can eye ball it and see its more then 1.7 degrees. What is your ride height like?

I second the no clunks with these.
