Recommendations for affordable shift knob?

Hello,

Any input or suggestions for a shift knob that is under <$100 shipped, heavier than the stock one, and is higher?

Been shopping around, nothing really meets all 3 requirements.

FYI for shift knob lovers, best thread on this topic:

I like the obx fatboy shift knobs they come with 8mm, 10mm and 12mm adapter screw on sizes with the 5spd 6spd shifter configuration sticker for various cars. It also has a height adjuster built in for about 30-50 bucks depending on where you buy em.

oh and they come in various colors from blue all the way to dark gray etc etc

I've tried heavy knobs & loved them, but after doing all my shifter mods (short shifter, rear bushing trans mount bushing, & Mtec springs), I decided to give stock a try. Wow, was it way better than expected.

I went & got a beatrush delrin knob (msrp is around $60), which is taller than stock & lighter. Best shifter feel ever.

So, give lightweight a try. It's much easier to find those under $100 than it is to find a counter weighted knob for under $100.

On phone I am. Therefore, if mistakes I make, Frank Oz blame you should.

I'll probably give lighter a try when I do any mods, but for now I'm remaining stock until my bank account recovers from the sticker shock.

Thanks for your input!

Heh, I had sticker-relief when I got my brz. All my costs dropped from when I owned an STI.

I was leaning that way, $89 isn't bad...after shipping, and tax it turned out to be $135...

Blox 490 spherical

Weighs 490 grams (great feel) a tad bit higher than the stock one. I got the knob and reverse lockout for about 63 bucks.

+1 for Blox if you want to stay under $100.

Might get this!

Just no one has a review really, nor how it looks.

You're the only other person I've read with this experience. I switched from my heavy flossy knob back to stock and it was the best thing I've done to the car. In comparison, the flossy knob made the transmission feel like it had no fluid in it.

It's definitely a little pricey ($80-$90 from dealership), but this is the red shift knob produced for the 2015 STi. I have a buddy who's going to give me his once he gets his STi because he already bought a different knob for it. I love this one, I really can't see why they didn't include it with the BRZ.

That's basically the same as the one in the BRZ/86 just different design.

Yeah, it is, it's just red on the inside. I'm not astute with taking things apart so I'd much much rather have this than pay to have the BRZ one painted.
