Selling back warranty

I was an idiot and thought I'd be satisfied with the 200hp this thing came from the factory with, so I purchased an extended warranty. Since I'm not even at the end of the factory warranty yet does anyone know if I can sell back the warranty I bought from Subaru even if I don't get what I paid for it'd still be better than nothing.

I believe that if you bought an extended warranty, the company who holds the warranty will refund your unused portion, on a pro-rata rate. The factory warranty is no refundable, only whatever you purchased after 3yr/36,000

I returned my warranty after 30-45 days or so and received $900 out of the $1000 I paid. I believe you just need to call and say you want to cancel and ask for a refund.

Do yourself a favor and read the terms of the warranty. It will spell out what you are refunded when you cancel.

I did the same thing, I canceled my extended warranty. I eat a $50 fee(iirc) and the remaining balance was applied to my loan. So my 63 month loan turned into a 57 month loan.

If it's the Subaru extended warranty, you can cancel it any time up to when the 3yr/36k warranty is up. Of course, it's pro-rated from the day you bought your car, so the earlier you cancel the better.

Subaru extended warranty can be cancelled within 90 days of purchase at full price. After that 90 day period, it's pro-rated.

Well mine is with Toyota and in 2 weeks that warranty becomes useless when I go turbo, I'll give them a call

I was considering dropping mine due to mods I've been making, but my dealership stated that the Subaru extended warranty is a lot more friendly to these things than the factory warranty is. The factory warranty covers part failure due to product defect, but the extended warranty looks like it helps cover repairs regardless of how they happened. So if you buy a new intake, you're only voiding your extended warranty for the stock intake and a new exhaust can only void your stock exhaust.

Correct me if I'm wrong, because if I am I'll go ahead and cancel mine too. That's just what I was told.

As far as i know most warranty companies will look for any reason to not pay for a part that failed because of it being on your end ie after market part. If it were to consistently happen even after they fixed then they would be losing money...

I bought my FRS in March 2013, and I am beginning to also realize that I don't want to deal with Toyota after my 3 years are completed. I heavily regret thinking I needed to get the two extended warranties in retrospect.

What am I looking at being refunded for the 4th and 5th year extended warranties? Any rough estimate would be appreciated - thanks

I bought my extedned warranty through my auto broker. So I can technically take my warranty to any body shop I want and have them fix the problem. No need to go directly through Subaru!!

The dealerships are so psychopathic I think they would be fine telling you that today, and telling you something different when you try to take them up on it.

I'm in the same boat, but so far my experience with my suburu dealer and their slimy ways does not inspire trust.
