Intel HD Graphics 4400 - What Games Can I Run???

I bought a Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 for school recently and I'm looking for a PC game that will run on it. It has pretty good specs (for and ultrabook, I guess) except for the graphics card. I don't know shit about gaming PCs.

Intel Core i7 4500U(2.40GHz)
8GB Memory 256GB SSD HDD
Intel HD Graphics 4000
Windows 8 64 bit

I'm hoping it'll run Far Cry 3 but I'd rather ask before I buy it and try. Whadya think?

Yeah, you can't run much with integrated graphics. The exception is AMD's APUs built into their newer CPUs but even those aren't as good as even a lower midrange dedicated graphics card in newer games at reasonable resolutions.

If you're looking for some games with lower GPU requirements that are still fun and will probably run on that system, Steam has a ton of older/indie games. Half Life 2 and Portal might run on that at reduced settings, and those are both classic Valve titles. For some newer games check out Rogue Legacy (insanely hard Rogue-like sidescroller), Faster Than Light (another Rogue-like game but a space-based strategy style game), and there's always Minecraft.

If you wanna go WAY back, Diablo 2 was designed to run on a Pentium 200

Actually, I play BFBC2 on a Core i5-2410m with Intel HD3000 graphics. Lowest quality, 1280x720, but it works okay. HD4400 should be able to run games on slightly higher resolution, you just can't turn up the quality.

I don't have a copy of Far Cry 3, otherwise I'd throw it on the Surface Pro and test it for you. I saw a video on youtube of someone claiming it worked, though.

The key here is lowering your graphic settings to the bottom and settling for 30fps with the occasional hiccup. And it doesn't always hurt every game out there so bad. So with that, I've run Grid 2, World of Warcraft, Diablo 3, XCOM, Civilization V, and Starcraft 2 on my Surface Pro, which has an Intel 4000 GPU. Not to mention a ton of awesome indie games and emulators that I've played as well. Guild Wars 2 didn't run very well though...

Intel's IRIS/IRIS Pro, aka HD5000, seems to be on par with AMD's APUs (dare I say, maybe even better?). At the very least, they're as good as a low-mid range Nvidia 4xx dedicated GPU.

Older/Indie games tends to play very well on Intel integrated graphics these days. Sometimes I itch to play a game on my MacBook Air (HD3000), usually on extended trips since I have a desktop...

Half Life 2 and Portal run actually at full settings. Doesn't say much, since the display is only 1366 x 768 (11"). Same with TF2. Indie games run beautifully. More intense games tends to stutter a bit. Minecraft isn't graphically bad, but it kills the machine in CPU/Memory usage. Java is stupid like that.

I play Diablo 3 on med/high settings on my wife's laptop with its HD4000 and 2nd gen i5. Starcraft "runs" in medium but low is where it needs to be at for fluid gameplay. Rust runs on low low low lol.

My actual computer will be at my house tmrw. Got a brand new Lenovo with a 4th gen i5 and a GTX650 w/ 1TB hard drive and 12g ram for only $600. I plan on upgrading the PSU and GPU eventually but I imagine it will be a sizable upgrade from my wife's laptop
