New FR-S here
Just wanted to stop by and say hello! I just bought my Whiteout FR-S 6MT on Thursday. I would've posted here sooner, but I've been out enjoying the car some.
![]() It was a big jump to go to this car from a full bolt on Coyote Mustang, but I've just found a love for a small, toss-able car that loves the twisties (I live in the mountains, so it fits the bill perfectly). I have some big plans for this car in the future. As soon as I sell my Miata, the fun will ensue. ![]() Thanks for having me here! ![]() ![]() The old Coyote ![]()

Congrats on the car! Just wondering if you ever considered the 2015 Mustang, with the possible changes to its characteristics?
I'm personally shopping between the 6G stang and FRS atm, waiting for more info/numbers on the new stang. |

Welcome.
Just a random question, but what made you go from Mustang to 86? Cuz lets face it, Mustang & 86 are totally different animal. I'm not saying you made great choice, bad choice, hating on Mustang or anything. It's interesting to see good amount of members go from Supra, MR2, Mustang, Corvette, Cayman, S2k, & other high hp sports car into 86. I know you wrote love for small toss-able cars, but there gotta be more reason than that IMO. Again welcome to the forum & hope enjoy your stay

About the Mustang, I love it. From what I've heard, they're increasing the output of the 5.0 to 450hp, and the car itself has lost a good 2-300 lbs. I've also heard a test mule outperformed the old Boss 302 around a track! Should be very impressive once the numbers are available. |

The driver input on the FR-S is much more crisp than the Mustang. The brake feel, sharper steering, etc, it just feels much more responsive and has a willingness to be pushed to the limit, whereas if you screw up one time in the 5.0, it will make you pay for it. You can tell when you sit in the FR-S, it has a more driver oriented feel also (of course I didn't have a track pack Mustang with the Recaro seats, so I can't back my statement compared to them). I wanted a reasonably priced drivers car that I could play with, and this one answered with flying colors. |

Welcome buddy! I almost bought a Mustang very similar to yours before deciding on the FRS. Sometimes I wish I had a little more power, but everytime I start driving or get in the car that feeling goes away. I do however, wish that it came in that beautiful Grabber Blue color that your Mustang was. Too bad they're most likely not going to be using that color for the 2015's.
And the NA...you have good taste in cars my friend! |

Welcome, glad you chose the 86! Great color too.
Also, as a side note, I LOVE the first picture. Might use it as a background (on the desktop) if that's alright with you.

Here's a few of my other rides that I have. I love a little bit of everything as you can see (:
My 1990 NA Miata that I picked up on the cheap. ![]() And my DD, 2013 Camry V6 SE. Navigation, heated leather, sunroof, JBL audio, etc. ![]() Took a few pics while enjoying the FR-S today. Gotta love when you live in an area with a lot of twisty backroads! ![]()
