[2014 FR-S] Performance Software

Hello,

like our brother the GTR, the display in the interior sreen displays cars performance and the mechanics. Is it possible to configure the software of the car to do the same?

In the monitor it tells you all those details?

You can buy an Android tablet, replace the stock headunit, run Torque and with a bluetooth OBD2 adapter you can see lots of car parameters, RPMs, Water/Oil Temp, AFR, etc.

There are a few builds in the forum.

Anything is possible if you throw enough money at it. But it is not a feature you can just turn on. The audio display and the obd2 system in the car do not talk to each other.

As per prevoius reply I don't believe its possible monitor engine/performance parameters on the standard display

However you could buy a cheap LM327 bluetooth OBD-2 device ($15) and link this to an Android mobile phone or Tablet maybe $100 for a cheapie) and run the Torque app o r OBD Dash app (free on android market) and monitor realtime engine/performance parameters. If the phone tablet has 3 axis accelerometers it will motor cornering/braking/accell G forces as well, probably not to any great accuracy though.

technically, if you have bespoke you can pull it off... raspberry pi running pi-obd and a stripped out version of x with a custom interface plugged into a hacked backup camera port. i've never seen it done, but it works in theory.

Go ask this in the electronics forum, or better yet go searching in there, you should find most everything you need.

Google Nexus 7 FHD is probably a solid option for running Torque. That's what I plan on doing with mine.

Torque is just so damn slow it's not really useful for anything. You can see what happened about a third of a second ago lol.

This tends to happen if you have too many displays. Increasing displays essentially eat up bandwidth and decrease polling I guess.

If you have only 1 or 2 dials it's essentially instant if you're using a good OBDII like OBDLINK MX.

Is anyone else wondering why this guy thinks our cars are related to the GTR?

Both have 4 wheels AND engines and the similarities don't stop there.
