My intake setup and feedback

I approached the intake system a bit differently and decided to retain the stock airbox. I have made the following modifications and the results are great.

1. Delete all resonators (There are 4 of them, 2 in the snorkel and 2 in the airbox to engine pipe)
2. Installed Perrin silicon intake pipe (I choose the one without the provision for sound generator)
3. Cut snorkel and flared its edges (See pic for where I cut it)
4. Installed TRD oem replacement filter (Not the one sold in the US, this is a Japan item I got from Japanparts)

The TRD filter is a great piece as it is exactly OEM shape except for the red color but when you do a rough and dirty test of trying to blow through the stock vs TRD filter you immediately understand that it flows MUCH more than stock. I did back to back road tests with the TRD and with stock filter and it is very noticeable much more than the other intake mods.

Overall very happy and the price is much much less than an aftermarket airbox. Throttle response is better, the car feels lighter, and top end is noticeably improved. I would highly recommend this setup

I think people expect a lot more from cold air intakes. In some cases, it actually can decrease hp without a tune. Best bang for your buck is an aftermarket air filter. I'm all for saving up for a turbo with a fat intercooler, but I maybe a bit biased

The real test is head to head. When I can get my car to pass you on the road then i can confirm gains. For now you remain undisputed.
