I dont know about either of the brands you mentioned and am very curious of the STi myself
.. but I have perrins aluminum steering rack inserts and love them why they arent on Perrins site, I dunno, but call and ask- I have two sets of perrins, one in each of our BRZ, they are that good, but its a metal insert, so if youre coming out of a porsche 911 and want that razor sharp think it and it goes steering, the install is cake and its another option aside from two you mentioned. Huge fan of whiteline too, I would like to see pics of both STI and WL, and can post a pic of what I have if you like |

STI
![]() Whiteline ![]() How much noise does the alloy ones make? I would like to increase the initial turn in feel; i feels its lacking. Whilst it's turned in the car feels amazing; its just that initial turn in that feels off.

I'd go straight for the Turn in Concepts metal bushings. Easy install, cheap, and I can't discern any difference in NVH.

Pretty much this. Not really an easy install but not terribly hard with the right tools. I forgot to add grease on mine when I did the install so I might have to go back and do that.

It's pretty easy. Unbolt the rack, push out the bushing with a 2-jaw puller. Took me an hour plus minor hangups/me being dumb.

I have the TiC alloy bushes installed and can hardly tell any difference over stock either on street or on track.

Alloy transmits more nvh, below 100 mph ts not noticeable, but as you get well into triple digits the nvh thru steering wheel increases not annoyingly so, but best for track cars and auto x builds more so than a daily driver. I like the feel and feedback of non aluminum for really high speed use, the alloy is almost too responsive and requires more attention
Low speed, especially below 50mph they make turning more precise and add to the experience in a good way Wife uses her brz for mostly 100 mile commutes each way did try but removed alloy fom her car, it's still on mine, but I'm really eager to try a harder rubber one, but enjoy the easy install of the ones I use, you simply slip them over and sorta into the one ones, remove bolt add insert, revolt, done, but like thy aren't for everybody |

I have the TIC bushings and they seem good thus far, not much if any NVH. The only thing I notice is that they are almost to sensitive sometimes at high speed 70+, I feel like the steering reacts to almost any road variation. Its not bad, just can be a little taxing for long driving stints. I have found if I relax my grip on the wheel a bit it counteracts this. I might try the whiteline bushings down the road to see what if any difference I feel as they are so cheap.
