Question Gtech- Pro SS performance meter - on road dyno

Dear All,

Anyone had experience using this device? I brought OFT and Gtech Pro SS together and I'm not so sure whether I set the setting correctly. I had do a few runs on original engine but seen to me i get the calculate setting wrong.

Can anyone assist me on the information i needed to set in G-tech pro SS?

The information need to set in Gtech - pro:

original vehicle weight MT is 1275 kg
Frontal Area = how to convert it to m2? 1775mm x 1320mm=??2.343m2?
drag coefficient =0.27
Drive train loss = how many %, max 20.

During on road dyno pull should i include my body weight for more accuracy?

Thanks!

Gtech- Pro SS performance meter - on road dyno

Yes you need to use actual weight of the car with you in it. I'm not sure about the model you have, but the gtech I used to have was a bit optimistic. On my old E36 m3 it would read abut .3-.4 secs optimistic, but it's a decent tool for estimating effects of mods etc.

There's an iPhone app that is actually made by the same guys...every time I add a mod, it says I make less power

Stock I was 139hp
After the Crawford BPB and OFT tune it dropped to 125

Why bother with this when you can just run 3rd (or 4th) gear logs through VirtualDyno and get good estimates? If the road is perfectly flat and low wind, the results are VERY close to a real dyno.

There's a thread in here somewhere about how to modify the OFT log files (just change column names) so that they work with VirtualDyno.

^^ Have you followed the instructions in the thread on here about how to use OFT logs with it? It works for me every time.
