van auto show

very disapointed with subaru and scion at the vancouver auto show. both companies had the cars on display BUT the doors were locked so you couldnt get to test what it felt like inside regarding legroom etc. and both companies claimed that they didnt have keys so the hoods and hatch could not be opened. im sorry but this is no way to try and sell a car and it has affected my desicion on getting one. also both companies are saying JUNE delivery.

I did get to sit in a new veloster turbo and a fiat abarth both of wich are in the price catagory and are nicely trimmed out.

I can see both sides of the coin. While it's nice to be able to crawl inside and look over everything it's also nice for people to be able to see the car without a bunch of people all over it preventing you from taking just the car itself in.

It would be nice if they maybe open it up for people on the last day or something.

I was really expecting this

I didn't think they would have the doors unlocked or the FRS on the ground

I mean presonally if that was the only car in Canada I wouldn't either last year I went I waited to sit in a msp3 only to noticed the kid in front of me take the shift knob and try to look around for other things he could unscrew and take.

I was told the same thing at the Calgary auto show, yet there was a "guy" with keys! It was explained to me by someone else that the person I saw the "guy" let sit in the BRZ was, one of the "guys" relatives!

Agree, not the best way to foster good customer relations!

That is rubbish. It's a regional autoshow, the whole point of those is to see and touch the car in the metal. It's not like it's the official unveiling.

Scion hardly has a long track record in Canada either, think they'd do all they can to get folks interested in the car.

They don't care about selling the FR-S, they've got pre-orders. It's all the xBs that nobody buys that they want to get rid of...

Hey guys, I was at the show yesterday and took some shots of the BRZ and FR-S. Great to finally see the cars in person. Can't wait till these cars come out.

Think about how beat that car would be if everyone from Toronto to Van was sitting in it. And since it's the only model they have, what do they do when someone trashes it? No parts anywhere.

Last year the new Kia Optima was locked, and that's no special Halo car - they just only had a couple in North America. This year no problem - lots available and it can be fixed at any local dealer.

Now that it's at the end of the show circuit I can see how they'd let a few people in.

Thanks for the photos, 2 colors off my list for sure now. Man that silver is big-time boring, and the red far too light - need a Ferrari red.

Yeah, I can't really stomach those 2 colours either. The silver is just really overdone right now. Every 70 year old driving right now has the same colour on their vehicle. And I dunno, maybe the red looks better in person but only ever seen it look nice in photos once and it was probably the lighting.

Red moved to 2nd place for me after seeing it in person. I agree it looks orange in half the photos. I thought it looked a lot like Ferrari cherry red.

From my phone.

Also remember hardly anyone has their monitors calibrated for color correctly.

I was surprised to not see any spec sheet or sign next to the BRZ when I was there yesterday.
