FYI - it's possible to add a reverse camera for $20.

Using a mismash of various and sundry posts on this board I was able to add a backup camera to my FR-S with Bespoke head unit.

Camera: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Promotion-Ca...154300&vxp=mtr

(I will be replacing this with a wedge-type soon. The one in the link blows ass to align)

You don't really *need* any special harness or pins. I basically wedged a wire in the connector for the reverse sensor thingamabob in the back of the head unit, then used the pointy end of a zip-tie to make sure it didn't go anywhere.

I used computer floppy disk connector pins and heatshrink for the camera + and - connectors. Sounds kind of ghetto but it works great and I don't see it going disconnected under any reasonable scenario. I used the amp for 12v.

Well crap, something isn't quite right. The wire I tapped for reverse puts out 12v whether I'm in reverse or not so the HU is always showing the camera.

I quadruple checked and I've tapped the correct wire (orange/white on back transitions to pink). Reverse lights work as expected but this wire is always 12v.

Assuming of course the same harness exists on the FRS as the BRZ, which I would assume it does.

There are a bunch of posts on how this comes off. The right most trim panel is very easy, just put your fingers under the edge closest to the stereo trim piece and pull away from dash, work way around to the right, top, then back left.

Second piece around stereo, do same thing starting from the right, don't pull it out too far, just enough to get traction with your fingers to pull straight out.

4 10mm (IIRC) bolts and the stereo is out.

I would assume the same. I don't know if it's something different about the FRS or something weird about my car in particular. When I say I quadruple checked, I mean more like octo-checked. Very odd.

That's a little forward. We hardly know eachother. As much as I hate to, I think I'm going to run a wire from the reverse light harness to the HU. I'll take pictures at that point but I expect some in return. I'm not a whore.

Sorry, your post sounded like photos were needed of the take apart, not the connectors. I too would like to see the connectors.

Here is where I tapped in to reverse. I went ahead and ran 2 wires so I can later use the HU's 6v output to trigger a relay. This is near the trunk latch thing area.

Here is the connections for RCA input. Notice the beautiful heatshrink. Top is signal, bottom is ground.

I used the pins from a connector like this: (from floppy drive power)

Yes, it's ghetto, I soldered directly to a male RCA. Don't judge me.

stripped some wire for reverse wire.

shove wire into hole like you are making love to beautiful woman.

Now the wire is in there pretty tight but used the end of a zip-tie to really wedge it in there

Enjoy - trunk is open, you're looking at my garage door

the angle of the camera (not pictured) totally sucks donkey balls. Replacing camera soon - should only take a few minutes

If you have any old video card dongles laying around, cut off one of the rca connectors and push those wires directly into the connector, that's what I did. Gives a nice quick disconnect for free!
