Need opinions on rim powder coat...

I'm going to Powder Coat my factory rims. My options are powder clear, gloss black, semi gloss black, and matte or flat black. This would be on a Pearl White BRZ.

Which do you think would look the best for a white BRZ?

Powder clear will not change the look I think, but it's one of the four options that the company offers so I included it. If powder clear has any additional benefits I'd like to hear...

I've also read that Matte and Flat black do not have the same texture. This company offers matte/flat as the same thing. Not sure what to think about that...

Here's a site that shows the 3 types of finishes.

Well, since gold isn't on the list... matte it is.

Going all black won't really change the appearance much from stock form IMO. I'd say go with a completely different color other than black.

Yeah, I took another look at the rims and imagined them all black. Doesn't seem like a big change.

I think I'm set on semi-gloss. Flat black looks too much like a spare tire IMO and gloss doesn't match the Pearl finish of the BRZ. I went outside and noticed that the Pearl White has a satin look to it. You barely see a reflection off of it. Semi-Gloss seems to have a satin look to it, so I guess I'll either Powder Coat with Semi-Gloss, or look into new rims that have a satin finish on them.

^Yes, semi-gloss is your best choice IMO.

I realize this topic is dead but I have a question. I am thinking about buying XXR 527's and I want them to be white so I was thinking about powder coating. Since the wheel will not be on the tire yet I won't have to pay the extra fee. If I do go this route what color should I buy them before they are powdercoated? Silver? Or does it not matter.
Thanks.

Spray with paint instead of powdercoating. Powdercoating outside the manufacturing process automatically degrades the structural integrity with a minimum of 30%. When you consider that casted wheels are heat treated in these goliath machinery after casting to "lock" its form, heat reapplied in the form of 400F with powdercoating at 20min (typical of minimum powdercoating time, not counting cool down) only serves to unlock and weaken the molecular structure of the wheel. If heat treatment werent a necessary measure, factories would not have to invest in a huge machinery like that.

How much does it roughly cost to paint a set of 4 wheels?
