How come there are so many articles about the BRZ and not the FRS?
What am I missing here? Is it release dates or something?

The BRZ certainly seems to be the more popular version.
Honestly I feel it's because a lot of people don't want to relate to the Scion name. I for one am leaning towards the BRZ even though I like the front end of the Scion better. I'm pretty mad at Toyota for screwing us like that. If I end up getting the Scion, swapping the badges will be the first thing I do. |

Every tuner mag is focusing on the FR-S, for what it's worth. Go pick up the latest issue of "Super Street" or better yet, "Import Tuner" because they have a great spread on the factory support, drifting teams, and future modifications for the car. The one thing I don't get is that more dealers seem to know what's going on with Subaru than Scion, and Scion is supposed to be the more common-selling car. They already have their prices, yet it doesn't seem like many dealers are taking pre-orders and getting people signed up!

Probably a press embargo. That's why no full test numbers on the fr-s

Agree. I think Subaru released its press embargo recently because there was a mounting chorus in the social media about lack of current info on the production car.

Yes...no sense in having all the reviews come out at once (BRZ and FRS)...they can maintain a more constant flow if they pay it out over time...same for the mags...they know people are interested so they can generate constant interest by stretching things out...it will be interesting to hear how the same reviewers rate the two cars...they are so similar (other than some spring rates) that I would expect similar commentary...but we all love to read it so bring it on!

I found the timing of all the BRZ articles was pretty close to when the FRS price was released. I think part of the lift of the embargo might have been because of the press the FRS was getting.
I think Toyota and Subaru are playing a bit of a press/news/coverage game. The FRS will be the volume seller of the two, so I imagine that Toyota's marketing budget for it is much higher then the BRZ. |

There's not much info on the BRZ than you think.
Prior to the BRZ the only information coming out with FRS/GT86. Plus there were plenty of FRS information. We were starved of 216a/BRZ info for 2 years. So what we're getting now isn't so bad.
