FT86 to Geneva Auto Show

According to Edmunds Inside Line the Ft86 will be at the Geneva Auto Show. Lucky for them! When can us Americans see it in person?

The European premiere of the Toyota FT-86 sports car will take place in Geneva as well.

Well maybe Geneva will be a sign of which design they're going with and put an end to that other "rumor" of a change.

I would not be shocked if they take it to NY too - mostly b/c this is the one year out of the last 5 or so that I'm not planning on going.

Well 7-tune did say they were making final changes to the Calty design in March so Geneva and New York seem like a good bet for the unveiling of the newest design direction.

Can I get a liftback/hatchback option please

Yeah, it would be nice to see a hatchback variant.

Well, the recently released "background" of the ED2 version was released by Toyota for the Geneva show, and time stamped by toyota for feb '10. I doubt they would release a "background" on a version they did not intend to use, or put out photos for the geneva show of a vehicle they did not intend to have there. Not to mention: date stamp it so that when it's circulated around it's clear that it's a recent release. Sounds like to me this is a clear statement that they are going to use the ED2 design and the Calty rumor was all cooked up to bring 7tune some publicity.

Makes sense to me.... although wouldn't it be simpler for them to just say the production car "will be close to the ED2 style"

of course, that would require intelligence on their part...

It'll come. I'm hoping it shows at the NY International Autoshow in April.

Ok, I was really disappointed when I didn't see it at the Chicago or Detroit Auto Show. I thought they we're saving it for LA.

Totally agree. They keep carting around a hatchback AE86 (instead of the notchback coupe that was also offered) with the FT-86, so...they better have a hatchback coming out as well!
