JDM BRZ vs. JDM GT86 Exhaust Tips

I'm looking to purchase a pair of these and japanparts.com seems to have the best prices. While I was looking at other goodies on there I did find that the BRZ exhaust tips are cheaper than the GT86 exhaust tips. They are also two completely different part numbers. I'm figuring Toyota and Subaru gave them their own part numbers. Even so are they the same tip or are they different?

I would buy Subaru because according to most BRZ owners, having Subaru on EVERYTHING makes your car a lot better.

It's more that not having Scion on everything makes your car a lot better.

Sucks that you can't buy your way out of ignorance.

Yep you got me figured out. I completely do not realize that mechanically my car is basically the same as a scion. Excuse me while I scan eBay for some blue illuminated Subaru badges.

Maybe you're just still upset Nebraska can't beat VT . (Hopefully you realize it was a playful joke this time).

Thats what flagged my interest. I don't understand why toyota would charge $10-ish dollar premium over the same part. Especially since, as far as I know, they have no permanent manufacturer marking.

Ironically, I arrived in Malaysia last night for a vacation, and one of my first thoughts was "I wonder if I can check out a local Toyota or Subaru parts counter and get a pair of JDM tips for a reasonable price."

Or, wait until they are available in the US for the 2015 BRZs?

The USDM tips will be a shorter length per DOT specifications - if you like the look of the JDM ones, I'd go ahead and pick up a set.

I was in the same boat. But I figured the USDM will likely be at or very near the name price as the JDM ones, so why not get the better looking ones.

I was in the same conundrum with the shark wing antenna. I decided on the V2 beatsonic, it looks better anyhow.
