Anybody notice a clicking noise when you let the clutch out?

Sounds like its coming form the rear end.

Its an Frs not that I think it makes a difference.

I am noticing that gear changing fluctuates for me. I don't know if it has anything to do with the cold weather.

At times the gear change is more rough and less forgiving and the engine sound is louder and not the nice sounding noise. This has been the case since winter started.

Then the other day, gear changes were much smoother and the sound of the engine reminded me of why i bought the car in the first place.

Anyone know what it could be?

You described your issue very poorly - we have almost nothing to work with. But my guess is you are talking about the clunk you can some times here when shifting into first at a stop or when taking off from a stop. That clunk is called drive train lash and is completely normal. It is more prevolant in RWD cars.

As far as my issues go I don't actually have to shift gears.

As long as the car is moving in gear (any gear) and I press in then let out the clutch I hear the noise. Regardless if I shift or not. I've been trying to isolate the noise. Its become louder that I can hear it with the windows up now.

Thanks for your reply. The noise is there regardless of starting or stoping. And is noticeable at speeds under 50mph possibly there when shifting into 6th although I'm not hearing it possibly due to road noise. It's not super loud just concerning. If I can manage to catch audio with my iPhone I will post.

Edit: I attempted to capture audio on my phone. Which doesn't seem to work ATM but in attempting to do that I figured out a few more details. The noise is more common at lower speeds. Got it to click from first through fourth gear up shifting and downshifting. Doesn't appear to matter if the car is warm or cold.

Also the noise happens with the car off. About half as loud but there. If I press the clutch all the way in then let it all the way out the noise "clicks" when I let the clutch all the way out. Which makes me feel way better about the whole thing. I was more afraid of a loose joint somewhere. Probably just more paranoid than anything else.

It is possible this is a normal noise but I have 10k miles with the car but I never noticed the noise until about 500miles ago.

How quick are you stomping on the pedal? If I am aggressive it can make a noise that could be considered alarming, if I am gentle it's practically silent.

It's a performance transmission, not a luxury one, making mechanical noises is anticipated and can be considered desirable to hear the mechanics of your machine.

Anyone from Canada notice any changes of shifting or louder engine sounds? I have been trying to correlate it with warm weather, but it seems to fluctuate. When it is consistently warm I will know.

One question: They don't explain why they recommend a transmission oil "without any limited slip additives." What's the reason for this?

Would changing your transmission oil yourself actually void your warranty?

To my understanding its not needed because of the style system use in our cars. Although a more technical answer would be good.

They would have to prove the transmission oil in the vehicle is what caused the failure. Although if you did have issues expect lip from them.

Mine does this too. I thought it was a broken CV on the drivers side. When I start moving from a stop I can hear a clicking especially when turning left (higher load on the driver side CV). Brought it to the dealer last year and they couldn't reproduce it. It's worse now, it happens almost every time I start moving.
