Smart or stupid?
Would it be smart or stupid to get a flashing blue or red LED on my dash that acted as though I had an aftermarket alarm? I know, it may be rice, but if that alone to stop potential intruders, I'm thinking about doing it.

The way I see it, if a thief wants to get in your car, he will get in regardless of an alarm system or not. Hence the term "smash and grab".
The lights could possibly deter would-be-theives. Best advice would be to not park your car in open areas, where attention can be drawn to your car.

It would probably keep the "wannabe" thieves out. The ones that are real probably wouldn't worry about it.
