Trying to install FA20club CAI need some help - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Does the bumper have to be removed. I don't see how I can possibly fit this large filter in there. Are there any DIY's posted? I wasn't able to find anything. FA20club isn't answering the phone.

I was able to remove the snorkel but this huge filter doesn't look like it will fit without breaking the bumper cover

Just remove the bumper it's easy. 4 clips each wheel well splash guard, pry out your side markers, 1 clip above each side marker, 3 clips underneath the front lip plus 2 10mm bolts, 5 10mm bolts plus 3 clips up top, pull....voila! Get a proper clip removal tool, it'll save you a lot of angst. Also, don't lose the 3 metal clips on the side marker. When you put the side marker back in, use a screwdriver to push on the back of the metal clip...if you just push on the side marker itself, the clip will bend and it won't have the tension to keep the side marker tight in between the bumper and fender.

It fits... once you remove the bumper you will see. Make sure you're careful with the plastic clips and unscrew your turn signal bulbs to fully remove the bumper off. Don't just let it hang.

I thought I saw a post about this where FA20Club said you can just remove the top clips? Maybe I'm wrong. Removing the bumper might seem easy when you have a driveway to do it in. I live in the city and park on the street lol.

we dont pull the bumper just the sidemarkers to remove the phillips screws attaching fender to bumper and the 5 10mm bolts on top and the 2 clips. once those are gone you can pull the bumper forward to release the headlight brackets and pull the top to slide the filter and lower tube into place.

Bumper doesn't need to be removed. Just remove the top & side/fenderwell bolts/screws, then pull the bumper away from the headlights.. there should be enough room to fit the filter in there.

You may have to pull the bumper with a little effort to get it to "detach" from the frame/headlights, but it's flexible enough to take it.

Can someone tell me if this is the crank case vent and, if so, how did they go about getting the OEM hose to fit over this tube? The OEM hose doesn't have enough slack or play to get it in place. I was thinking I might need to buy a length of rubber hose and clamp it over the OEM hose and then over the crank case tube. Anyone tried this?

Here are a couple pics of mine attached. I will say it was a stretch and I had to turn the hose to get it to connect. It will go it just takes some maneuvering.
