Just need to get something cleared up
Stock wheels are 17x7 +48 right?
So If I get these Enkei GTC01 18x8 +48, will they 'fill' the rears a little better because they are an inch wider? - or will they sit in exactly the same place (or stick out further?) as stock wheels? I know these ENKEI wheels come in a +38 and +48. The difference is small but this is pretty much what I'm tossing up between..... here is an 18" that is 7.5 wide +48 (I'm really looking at the 8") ![]() And this one below is the 8" wide one but +38 offset The guy has apparently 6mm spacers on the rears ![]() Can't tell if it sticks out too much or not - at the front - I also believe this is lowered slightly - and I won't be lowering mine ![]() So basically i'm still tossing up between the 18 x 8 +38 or 18 x 8 +48 it's like the SMALLEST difference, but I'm like a stunned mullet trying to pull the trigger, I WAS leaning towards the +48 because of course it 'might' be close to stock 'feel' - however, the +38 seems more logical to 'fill' the wheel well, At times I feel like the +38 on the front of that red one seems like it sticks out a bit too much? but really it's close to perfect, right? considering I'm NOT lowering mine. I think I might be used to cars having the front wheel tuck in a little bit... and I guess it's just personal preference too.... as far as feel goes, I would've liked it ot be close to stock but I'm wondering how much difference the poke out +38 to +48 would be?? in mm's?? ![]() Anyway, any assistance on my shit decision making is muchly appreciated. |

if they are an inch wider at the same offset then they will stick half an inch more in either direction... so about 12mm.
personally I would go the +48 offset but it is one or the other with the 86, what fits perfectly as the front sits in a little at the back.. |

I think the +38 wheels would fit well. I have +38 18x8.5 on the front and they sit nice.

actually the 38 would be probably be nice too
the metal of the rim would be dead flush with the front guards. It depends what you want, I can't see you having fitment issues either way...

and i posted that before I read Xauterus' reply so I am not just agreeing for the sake of it! +48 is the same as factory, and it is what the wheel bearings were designed to tolerate, whether such a small offset variation actually makes any difference to wheel bearing life or steering feel is beyond me. anyone?

same offset front and back with 1 inch stagger gets them close to same flushness.
If you want the front flush and stay square you'll look for 8.5 +45 |

I've got 18x8 +48 on mine they look fine. They do sit 1/2 inch closer to the guards.

I find very little difference in the steering feel changing to the 8.5 inch rims. Upgrading the tyre made the best of a great chassis

great, i've got 17x9 +45s coming! hoping they feel good too!
should be here just before the car, thought they'll probably sit for a while as i'd like to get a feel for the factory set up (in reality ill still be saving for tyres) |

17x8 +38 will look good and won't stick out at all, won't be totally "flush" either
FWIW I will be going 17x8.5 +30 or +35 |
