Damn..."hit and run" parked on street

I almost never park on the street but had to make an exception for a dinner party last night since someone was blocking the driveway. I made sure not to park near another driveway for fear of being backed into. After the driveway blocking car left (2 hours later) I went to move my car around back and discovered this [pictures below]... Of course no note or indication of responsibility.

I keep my cars in mint condition so now there will be an accident reported on my car. I wonder what if any diminished value claim I can make. The door is hard to open and will only open partway, I also wonder if parts are going to be available and how long I'll be out of commission.

I did just last week buy a Ford Escape for winter, track bike towing, and mountain bike carrying purposes so at least I'll have another car to drive for awhile.

Update: Looks like someone may be taking responsibility, just got a text message that sounds like someone older we knew might have backed into "something" and not known it or seen any damage. It was dark.

Wow, that wasn't a minor bounce off. Looks like they backed into the wheelwell and shoved the fender back. They had to feel that. Now I see why people are putting video cameras in their cars when they are parking.

That sucks, sorry. One negative about this car is that it is so low profile, a lot of trucks and SUVs can't see it when backing up (not necessarily what occurred), not an excuse, just a reality.
