Question Tick Click Tick (injector orgy)

I noticed this last night .. after normal driving I pulled into a drive-thru and I could hear a lot of ticks and switching sounds under the hood - very presumably the D4S system.

It sounded very finicky like the D4S couldn't decide what it was doing and something kept switching on/off or back and forth and the revs would slightly alter each time. Not significant but it was definitely weird.

Anyone with similar experience? Performance wise nothing seemed out of place.

I have the same thing happen in my tC. Could be the fan switching on and off, could be the AC, it could be quite a few things up there. I know a tC and the twins are not nearly the same car, but I would chalk it up to normal.

I remember reading in a couple places on here that the ECU for the fuel delivery system makes constant calculations for switching on and off Port injection. I doubt it would happen repeatedly at idle, but you might notice a change when coming to a stop for the first time.
