Timing chain cover oil leak - REPORT

This is an extremely common issue and needs to be addressed. Poor quality sealant was used and we weee never issued a fix from the manufacturer. Just told to fix it by paying over $2000 for an issue that the manufacturer caused.

Report it to

https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/

Oil leaking from the engine on the driver side is a safety hazard.

Hopefully this gets addressed.

It was addressed in the owner's manual and the warranty. Have you read either?

My timing cover has never leaked when I re-installed it properly. I think it's workmanship, not manufacturer

While it happens, it is not common. It is definitely NOT a safety issue.

edit: It also tends to happen with an engine that's been fucked with six ways to Sunday. OP needs to sack up, and own up.

i thought self-oiling/anti-rusting was a feature?
