Age 40+
just curious who here is age 40+, getting a GR86. :-) I am 45, so not sure if too old for a GR86. I know this car is focus toward the younger audience.

45 myself. First “younger” car. Totally not having a crisis—I’m not even fifty!

53 and getting a daily driver/toy on a cash budget aligned with my retirement goals. I don't go into debt for cars. We budget for a new car every 5 years instead of taking out a 60 month loan. This is where I was going to proclaim I don't care what people think. Wwweeeelllll...
Confession: Picking Toyota over Subaru was in part due to my bias again Subaru as a hoon symbol, and my bias towards Toyota as more mature. Biases are what they are. They don't have to be correct! ![]() The rest of the decision was the front end and Neptune blue. |

42 and have one on order, with conservative options: 17" wheels, no duck tail, silver paint.
It's the sensible hold-over option between my street legal rally car of my 30s and my future fancy, high power semi-exotic of my 50s. Last edited by Lelandjt; 01-07-2022 at 05:24 AM. |

I’m 51, and this will be my second 86. I bought a Scion FR-S in 2013. I think the new GR will be a nice companion to my ‘69 Mustang I’m putting together, also with a 6 speed standard.

I was 47 when I bought my 86 GTS a couple of years ago - bought it off a guy who was 53.
I was going to keep it stock but a couple of things pi$$ed me off about it so I fixed those. one thing led to another and I don't want to add up how much I've spent on it now - wheels, suspension, full exhaust, tune, headunit etc etc. good thing is a lot of my mods will fit on the new model. will probably wait a couple of years, but I am pretty sure I'll get the new one. never too old!! |

Thought I'd chime in since the BRZ is the twin of the GR86, and I'm 59.. I bought the car strictly as a toy for recreational driving. Never too old to have fun, don't care what anyone else thinks.

47 here. Currently have a 2020 86 GT PP, but in the process of upgrading to a GR 86 premium now (also in steel silver). My youngest is off to college, so I can justify a “2 seater”. Will also be paying cash for mine as well. I don’t like debt!

Going on 67, If I was to misplace my BRZ (Summer DD) tomorrow
I would definitely be looking into this next gen as replacement. Just having too much fun exploiting the collection of roundabouts that have been popping up around here. I hope that’s not a sign that senility is setting in.
