Invidia N1 Silencer rattle

I just installed an invidia n1 exhaust last night and all went well. Without the silencers it's pretty darn loud and the in-car drone is too much. So this morning I put the silencers in and locked them down tight. It totally tamed the exhaust down and shouldn't wake up the neighbors or attract cops.

My question is, at idle on cold start the silencers vibrate a bit which sounds crummy. The silencers are held on by one screw/nut. What can I do to make sure they fit better? There's a .5mm gap in between the silencer and the tips. Can I wrap it in heat wrap or something for a snugger fit?

Advice greatly appreciated.

I had the same issue with the N1 silencers, then I stopped using them. They'd also cause a weird whistling sound when air escapes in the gap between their edge and the exhaust tip. After about 1000 miles the exhaust will quiet down and the drone will be much much less, you'll start enjoying it.

I guess in the meantime I'll leave the silencers in while the exhaust builds up carbon. Without the silencers the in-car drone is insane and I can't hear myself think. Outside the car it's not as loud but it does set off sensitive car alarms. Trying to keep the Po Po from pulling me over for a loud exhaust. This is Texas, but still there are some not so cool cops.

2 choices on how to fix it.

1 You can take a sharpie and mark where the metal lip sits in the muffler. Remove the insert and apply high heat RTV inside of line and re install insert so the rtv is pushing against the insert. Clean the surfaces well

2 spread the flange on the insert and re install so its a tight fit. This will take a little time to get it right but works as well as fix1. Be sure to remove any burrs on insert so you don't scratch your muffler. good luck

Both are really good ideas. I think spreading the flange would be the best option. Sounds like the RTV might get messy and not sure if it will hold up against the exhaust temps but I may try it too

Hopefully I can get rid of the silencers when this thing quiets down.

Appologies for resurecting a 4 year old post but I too have an Invidia N1 which was super loud until I put the silencers on.
I no longer wake up the neighbours and set off car alarms but the rattle is brutal, I'd say I'm almost better off without them now. My Invidia N1 sounds like a no name brand ebay exhaust and rattles intensely.
Just to put things into perspective, I have a supercharger installed. Aside from the suggestions above, I was thinking of bringing it to a muffler shop and have them weld the silencers straight onto the exhaust. What do yall think of this?
