Is it better to replace shocks/springs/wheels at the same time?

Hi guys!

Im looking to install lowering springs/koni shcos/new wheels to my BRZ, but at the moment i can only replace springs since i just lost 9000 dollars at casino, sorry for too much info and f*** bacarrat!

Now, should i wait til i am afford to replace all at once at the same time or it doesnt really matter?

I can install lowering springs right away, and wheels after 2 weeks and shocks after like 3 months.

Please advise

Do Springs & Shocks together. Why spend extra money doing the same labor twice?

Although what's a couple extra hundred dollars considering you throw around 9K at the Casino and 13K on accident repairs lol

Depending on how much you’re lowering it, it could wear out the shocks faster and affect the ride. It’s not an absolute must but you’ll also be doing the same work twice. If it’s gonna be a while, I’d go ahead and do the springs but if it’s gonna be soon, I’d just wait to save yourself the trouble of removing everything again.

Im actually going be using my stock PP sachs damper for a while. I said 3 months but i might use my stock damper until it wears our. I am getting eibach pro kit for loweing springs. Do you know how long the stock damper will last with the pro kit?

The pro kit is actually the exact same thing as the TRD springs from Toyota. I got mine delivered with my 86, new from the dealership and with full warranty. So even if they make the shocks operate "lower" with less damping distance, it doesn't seem to bother Toyota for premature wear.

I suppose your dampers have different specs than mine, but the Pro Kit gives a reasonnable drop without being too harsh (no more than the stock setup).

You might be able to keep those Sachs longer than you think.

For future reference, casino's are considered businesses, and businesses operate by taking in more money than they dole out. A place of business that doles out everything they take in is considered a charity.

I would recommend doing it all at once.

Springs and shocks at the same time.

You don't need an alignment for new wheels so you can get them later.

There is also a mentality that you shouldn't rush into too many mods at once. It may be a good idea to get those Eibach springs, pair them with your PP struts, and buy new wheels. You'll need to get a 2nd alignment when your PP struts blow/upgrade to Koni, but that'll be 10k's of miles down the road.

Wow, had an uncle that was that bad into gambling, at one point he owed almost every casino in Vegas money.

You can do it one at a time or together. People say lowering springs will blow the stock shocks but then people have been running on just lowering springs since 2013 without issues.

5 years on RSR Superdowns spring and stock everything else. All still good. If you don't beat the crap out of it the combination is fine. If you do beat the crap out of even the best of the coil overs can still fail.
They used some very good stock suspension in these cars so they can take things that many others could not. A lot of the concerns with lowering springs is when they are used on econobox sedans and such where the shocks can barely withstand normal use much less being lowered. We do not have those shocks as stock.

then I CAN NOT replace springd and shocks at the same time if I were to use PP struts for 10k miles?

You can replace either/or any time you wish. Zero reason not to.
