question- steering angle limiter?

I have looked at the diagrams for the 86's hub assembly but it's like looking at Greek to me. And I have had no luck with Google either.

There's a YouTube video about adding steering angle and how to modify your hubs and steering components for big steering angles on other cars. Also, there's videos about various kits for the 86. But one video said you can remove the steering angle limiters on a Mustang to get 10 degrees more steering angle.

Does the 86 have any such thing? Is there any free adjustment for more steering angle. 10 degrees would be a lot!

You can try asking Velox/Verus. IIRC them made some shims for steering racks (and included them in their brake cooling kits/airducts, if with some wheels/tires they rubbed against ducts).

Oh. i should be more careful reading posts. You want wider, not narrower steering angle. I guess, then one needs modified knuckles or alike from aftermarket suspension bits for drifting setups. I doubt a bit ability to make stock wider.
Wisefab, partshopmax, driftknuckles, pbm kit, or whatever else can be googled out.

Doesn't "need" it... prob more "want" it. Prob for drifting or for the look.

When last weekend on ice track had some sideways action and for comparison had a go in colleague's bmw, wider steering angle in it made drifting easier indeed then in gt86. In mine i had to be very careful to not get past max countersteer angle at lock, when beamer still had lot more, allowing more relaxing and less error punishing drifting control. I guess, stock is that narrow due reduced space due wide boxer engine, hence "other cars" with inline or V engines more commonly have stock max angle wider.

I asked my question because I had these on my car for approx. 10 months. Some pros but the biggest con is that VSC kicked in aggressively under street conditions when coming off things like freeway offramps (at higher speeds). Felt like I was trying to trailbrake the curve and then VSC kicks in.

I had tested them out, they work well but probably better for autocross or drifting. Track was okay but with the spacers the initial turn-in was much faster and you have to adjust your driving habits to match the parts.

If OP still interested in .. i installed megan racing steering rack ends that offer more angle in relatively simple/reversible/cheap way (stock rack ends replacement with part of balljoint machined off to allow it to enter steering rack deeper till lock).
With wheel/tire i had (-3dg camber, 17x7.5ET47 225/45) they rubbed arch liner a bit at full lock (around +60deg past stock lock of steering wheel), so had custom made polyurethane spacer rings on each side to limit that extra angle (3mm thick, ID 23mm, OD 34mm). With one of such spacers per each side of course max angle is less then without, but still around 15-20deg more past stock lock of steering wheel. I guess, depending on wheel offset or spacer thickness one might get without such and with more max angle (such as for my narrower winter wheel & tire set, so when switching to that will remove rack spacers). Who knows, maybe also verus limiter spacer set may fit, haven't tried, don't know it's sizes.
