Need helping finding a good paint mixer
I am looking to pick up a pint of paint for my H8R FR-S. Long story short, went off the road, dented rocker and quarter panel. Going to do the body work myself, just need a shop to paint it for me.
What is your guys' experience with paint companies and who knows a good vendor that will provide a very close match? Thanks yall |

I've had good experiences with https://www.automotivetouchup.com/. I ordered a few spray cans of 02C for my spoiler and antenna. It matches really well.
I also have used paintscratch.com, but found it a little bit more expensive.

I did just because I figured it was probably a little bit more application specific rather than Krylon, or a normal Home Depot brand.
Edit: Keep in mind, I rattle canned mine. I'm not sure if you planned on doing that or have a spray gun since you mentioned a pint.

You, your body prep work? The supplier of the paint? The shop that sprayed the paint? I'd suggest that you have the paint shop do the whole job. (yes, I have painted many cars in my time - )humfrz |

There are usually two or three local distributors that supply all the body shops in a given area, depending on population.
Automotive paint is going to be expensive whoever you buy it from. I got some touchup paint for my whiteout. Base white, and tint with pearl in two small bottles that have a brush inside the cap. Wesco Autobody Supplies in Renton. They mixed them up to the correct color codes. It's possible to spend hours running around trying to find the best deal, but could you have spent those hours more profitably finishing up the bodywork?

Yep, auto paint is expensive. I used to work at a pint shop. $100 of paint is not much paint. (especially paint like H8R) I figured a full paint job was $600 - $1000 just in materials. We would charge $4k to 5K for a full job.

A gallon of enamel paint would cover a full sized car (one heavy coat). Back then, if you wanted 20 coats of hand rubbed every other coat of lacquer paint, you best be rich! humfrz |
